Meet Frank

Meet Frank

Giving thanks for YOU

Frank’s future is bright this Easter!

Frank was born in Montana, but he spent his childhood in Alaska, where he remembers the joy of fishing and playing in the woods. Although he shared a close bond with his grandparents and mother, a troubled relationship with his stepfather eventually led him to run away.

As an adult, he moved back to Montana and lived with a family member who introduced him to drugs. Even as addiction took hold, Frank worked steadily as a cook, just as he had since high school.

However, Frank’s life began to unravel when he went through a painful divorce. “For a while I lost faith in everybody, including myself.”

Feeling abandoned by God and battling despair, he fell deeper into addiction – until he was without a job or a home. Alone and freezing on the streets, he even considered ending his life.

One day, while shoveling snow to make money, he was assaulted and robbed. That moment was a wake-up call. Frank knew he couldn’t survive on his own.

“I was lost in the streets… I just didn’t care anymore. Now I feel like I’m a better man.

Once here, Frank formed friendships with other men in the discipleship program. He has begun to rebuild his life and says his favorite class is Guardrails. “They teach us how to set up our own personal safety net.”

He enjoys serving other residents and the public by doing what he loves: working in the kitchen. “We feed almost 200 people a day.”

Frank is grateful to the Mission for helping him find sobriety, grow in confidence and strengthen his relationship with the Lord. He looks forward to saving for his future, finding a place of his own and continuing to work as a cook.

This Easter, Frank has a new direction for his life. Thank you for lighting the path forward for him to experience a future of hope and peace! “I’m really thankful for everybody here. I’ve had so much support and love.”
